Sanromán performing 'This is Rubbish' during Parnu Art Week 2021
The performance reflects on two highly topical issues that have put our daily future in check: the Covid 19 pandemic and the effect of pollution on the environment. Both in different ways force us to rethink our role in the global society to which we belong. The reality we live in has become alien, strange, and even incongruous. The artist uses the surprise effect to dislodge the viewers, seeking to distance them from the obvious and force them to reflect on what is happening. The piece has a surreal character and borders on the absurd.
