More info about the Exhibition:
Gaia, the primordial earth goddess was born out of chaos; and in a 360 degree twist, to chaos she seems to be descending anew of late. The tales in this exhibition take that environmental state of flux as their starting point in order to weave stories about challenges and despair but also of hope and underlying beauty.
The works on display also mirror the experience of their makers: four artists who left their native Spain to settle in London in order to develop their practice at different stages of their careers and at different times in the relationship of the capital with Europe. Two common threads stand out among the works, however. They were all prompted by an urgent call to attention to the plight of the environment: be it our oceans, rivers, forests or cities; but above all, they signal our complicity in the current estate of affairs.
